Episode Title: "The Wheels of Justice" Season 4, Episode 19 | Original Air Date: March 31, 2013
_____________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: Who doesn't want a delicious late-night snack? Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Grape and Prosciutto Pizza Sure, Colin Sweeney murdered his wife... and sure, he killed his dog, too. That doesn't mean Lockhart Gardner isn't on a mission to clear his name for some party indiscretions gone wrong. Lucky for Sweeney, the whole firm is on the case (that's what $22 million in annual business will do), and that means late hours for everyone, especially when you're trying to climb the corporate ladder. Lucky for Robyn, who jogged back to the office after investigation drinks, Cary had a piping hot pizza sitting on his desk. Forget about needing a ride home - sometimes you just need a late night snack. With a pizza this good... and company as handsome as Cary Agos, who could resist?
Episode Title: "Death of a Client" Season 4, Episode 18 | Original Air Date: March 24, 2013
_____________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: Sometimes you need a little luck
Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Lucky Charm Squares Peter's getting his shamrock shake on, while Alicia is having flashbacks to a time when everything was coming up four-leafed clovers. While Team Gardner is in some serious need of the luck of the Irish, these delicious marshmallow squares will help the transition until they get another chance to follow the rainbow and ride off into the sunset... together.
Episode Title: "Red Team Blue Team" Season 4, Episode 14 | Original Air Date: February 17, 2013 _____________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: Let bygones eat biscotti... or not Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC:Glazed Lemon Biscotti Elsbeth Tascioni: She's quirky, brilliant, whimsical and stealthy. She also loves sweets... and patterned purses. Not only that, she's kind, friendly and impossible to hate, especially if you're the opposition. This week, while the offer of biscotti from Josh was tempting, his ruthless desire to undermine Elsbeth's defense of Eli was just too much. The biscotti had to go back... but if it had been JS's Glazed Lemon Biscotti, I'm pretty sure she would have taken one for the road.
Episode Title: "The Seven Day Rule" Season 4, Episode 13 | Original Air Date: January 27, 2013 ______________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: Popsicles, Promotions and Partnerships: Three things you give away Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Frozen Banana Pops Equity Partnership is on the table for Alicia, Cary and three others. It's an exciting time... if only Diane and Will weren't making these offers because their debt load. Like popsicles on a playground, Lockhart Gardner is in the mood to give things away... as long as it comes to the tune of $300,000. Popsicles and desperation? Sounds like it's time to pull up to a real dessert bar and make the most out of this new opportunity, because when life gives you popsicles, why not dip them in chocolate?
Episode Title: "Je Ne Sais What?" Season 4, Episode 12 | Original Air Date: January 15, 2013 ______________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: All things French. Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Goat Cheese, Sun-Dried Tomato and Roasted Garlic Souffle Between Diane's sweet-talking French judges and "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" echoing throughout the episode, there was nothing left to do this week but keep things on theme. Souffles can be complicated, but, more complicated than Eli's impending legal woes, Peter's campaign going down in a flurry of racial bias cross-fire or Lockhart Gardner's on-going battle with Clarke Hayden? I think not. At least this way, the challenge has a delicious reward at the end. Eat up!
Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Crab Cakes with Sriracha Hot Sauce Sometimes the guy next to you in the diner just wants you to pass the hot sauce. Sometimes he wants to raid your campaign office. In Battle of the Proxies, Eli Gold found himself between a rock and a hard place. He's being investigated, he can't tell Alicia or Will, he has Diane lurking in dark corners wearing sun glasses and Peter's campaign could be compromised. Pass the hot sauce, Eli - things are about to go up in flames.
Episode Title: "A Defense of Marriage" and Giraffes Season 4, Episode 9 | Original Air Date: November 25, 2012 ______________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: David Lee's candy jar Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Giant M&M Cookie Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate, especially when it involves Alicia's extended family. With Alicia's Mom, Veronica, talking to David Lee (and everyone else in A's life), a little indulgent treat that can be washed down with a smooth Malbec is just what the doctor ordered.
Episode Title: "The Art of War" and the Mambo Season 4, Episode 6 | Original Air Date: November 4, 2012 ______________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: Toss your headbands and pearls away - Jackie Florrick has a new man in her life! Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Guacamole Jackie's new caregiver is a man named Cristian. He's a trained nurse, he's strong-willed enough to contend with even the most outrageous Jackie-isms, he's Cuban and he's willing to teach the senior we love to hate how to Mambo. What's not to celebrate? Cristian - this guacamole is for you!
Episode Title: Waiting for the Knock aka The Case of the Illegitimate Juice Bar Season 4, Episode 5 | Original Air Date: October 28, 2012 ______________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: A 12% discrepancy in the books? Looks like the juice bar is to blame. Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Cran-Apple Green Smoothie Clarke Hayden loves reading footnotes and hanging out with his new work-bestie, Cary Agos. Always a stickler for details, Hayden takes to the gym with his ledger only to find the crux of the problem: a juice bar that is still making money despite being closed. Looks like everyone involved is going to need a drink.
Episode Title: Two Girls, One Code - Isn't Life Chummy? Season 4, Episode 3 | Original Air Date: October 14, 2012 ______________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: Kalinda's famous omelette Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Perfecting an Omelette Kalinda can crack an egg with one hand and, apparently, in a past life omelettes were a specialty. Well sure. I'm willing to believe almost anything when it comes to Kalinda, so with this revelation, I'm waiting to see her spearhead the next office potluck. Just imagine what she could do with a quiche!
______________________________________________________________ Recipe Inspiration: Kalinda's favourite beverage (next to tequila of course!): Milk! Courtesy of Edible Life in YYC: Vanilla Milkshakes Kalinda's commitment to a minimalist lifestyle has made its way into her kitchen cupboards, but, next to Alicia, there's one thing she can't live without: Milk. Like visions of sugarplums dancing through my head, I'm flashing back to season one, when K would walk around the office with a tall glass of milk. Why? I don't have a clue, but as an avid milk-drinker myself, I can't fault her for loving this deliciously frothy beverage. This one's for you Kalinda - A vanilla milkshake worthy of the one glass left in your apartment.
